Majority new citizens are malaysian chinese, followed by malaysian indian Indonesian chinese.

People’s Action Party PAP ruling regime already gave permanent residency residents PR Citizenship candies sweets Malaysians years.

Seeing way too many these buggers are now recruiters &/ hiring managers human resources (HR) in almost every sector now who only favours other fellow Malaysian side-line Singaporeans. Employment concerns problems issues

They always boast about their food is better, cheap petrol gasoline fuel everything then why the FUCK do they come here to get permanent residency (PR) as well as [Singapore] citizenship?

Because of currency exchange International Arbitrage MYR SGD 國際 套匯 套利 Arbitraj Antarabangsa

given the opportunity to go to a nearby place to work for 5 to 10 years and earn three times your current salary. Wouldn’t you?

A lot of them are remaining i.e. staying put as permanent residents (PR) while holding maintaining Malaysian assets planning for retirement in Malaysia after ×3 everything they earned in Singapore. Best is if they ever miss home, it is less than a day away.

Honestly, I do not blame them. It is the system and we are to blame for this system.
Correct a lot many these Malaysians new citizens are now as human resources HR multinational corporations MNCs recruiters recruitment they love to screw locals up. Born bred permanent resident residents PRs PR

I can say that they are just super toxic very good at lying to close a deal.

Most importantly, they like to play politics at work see locals fighting with each other so as to safeguard their positions.

Those that are here for many years already blend in quite well hard difficult some hard to identify just look out for their surname if you see is not so common one in Singapore, confirm is Malaysian. They can be found mostly in banking, semiconductor recruitment industries.

True blue locals especially fresh graduates please be extremely careful of them.

Many of the Malaysian personnel staff & workers employed in Singapore like to consistently as well as persistently complain grumble whinge whine they lead a tough & difficult life crack of dawn wee hours cross the Causeway as well as the Second Link Bridges insists Singaporeans Sinkies ought to sympathise with them blah yak consistently currency conversion international arbitrage i.e. the MYR as compared to the SGD

This Malaysians always brag boast about how wonderful Malaysia is compared to Singapore whilst ribbing taunting Singapore’s cost of living and food and beverages cuisine i.e. how lousy reprehensive everything is in Singapore but still come to Singapore to earn SGD (international arbitrage) undercutting Singaporeans employment terms & conditions accepting ridiculous monetary bonds & lowball salaries wages because their currency MYR is always in their favour if they earn first in SGD debt liability terms and conditions job market taken away terrible for locals

Every festive season like Chinese Lunar New Year allow up to a fortnight off two 2 weeks leave manpower shortages whilst locals Sinkies Singaporeans merely need two days leave get reprimanded scolded told off big time by management and bosses

In workplace office worksite play politics backstabbing obsequiousness apple polishing kissing up to their management bosses best whilst gullible locals follow them and collude conspire against their own local i.e. Singaporean colleagues compatriots no wonder these foreigners including dodgy permanent residents (PRs) who are counted i.e. considered as locals are climbing clambering over the heads of Singaporean citizens i.e. true locals because of imbecilic local Singaporean turncoat fools who tag along follow them like cattle cows hidden displacement of citizen locals

Consistently apparently daily blame accuse Singapore of making Malaysia as well as the MYR so terrible and lousy as if Singapore owes them a living i.e. Singapore is culpable responsible for their plight predicaments in Malaysia could this because of inferiority complex towards Singapore’s achievements as opposed to Malaysia’s? The Big Read: Malaysia’s brain drain to Singapore — winners & losers in the long run not so clear-cut

Commuters at a bus stop next to the Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday, 28th February 2024.

The Malaysian government recently released an official study into Malaysians living in Singapore & warned of the “adverse effects” of the brain drain as skilled workers leave Malaysia.

Many Malaysians relocate to work in Singapore for better opportunities, higher salaries and advantageous exchange rates

Economists and experts told Today that Malaysia’s talent exodus has not reached a dire level yet, but if left unchecked, could eventually hamper its economic growth as well as development

This would also not be in Singapore’s interest given i.e. considering how closely intertwined both countries’ economies are

Malaysian workers whom Today spoke to said Malaysia must address political stability and pay gap as well as invest in infrastructure to encourage its diaspora to return

Take Ms. Audrey Yeap, for example. The 30-year-old, who works as a senior executive in branch operations at a local bank, married a Singaporean citizen after working and living in Singapore for seven 7 years.

The Ipoh (Perak) native moved to the Lion City in 2016 right after graduating from university, having no prior work experience in Malaysia other than a three-month 3-month internship in Kuala Lumpur (Federal Territory)

“When I was just a kid, my parents took me to Singapore for the holidays (vacations). Back then, I didn’t know anything about the currency exchange rate or the strength of the dollar.

“All I knew was a PlayStation Portable cost about SGD200 then, but in Malaysia, it was around MYR800. I only understood figures, and thought it would be great to live in a place where I didn’t have to pay so much for things I wanted,” she told Today.

As she grew older, Ms Yeap eventually realised that earning SGD would mean increased spending power, thus reinforcing her belief that Singapore was an attractive country to relocate to.

Conversely, Malaysian technology start-up founder Joshua Lee (not his real name), 40, had never considered moving to Singapore all his life. Still, he found himself mulling over it after being offered the role of chief technology officer at a local firm more than two 2 years ago.

These foreigners are willing (i.e. it is their own choice) to accept lowball (depressed) salaries as well as ridiculous employment bonds — it is a race to the bottom.

This is because they will still earn considerably more — in spite of the locally (Singapore) depressed wages — than had they pursued employment/careers in their own respective countries.

Furthermore, the Singapore government earns plenty from these (foreign worker) levies; in addition, the employers/proprietors can always simply give the excuse they cannot find any “suitable” locals for the job(s) which is the raison d’être they must recruit from outside of Singapore.

This is the reason why the job market is execrable for Singaporeans — as mentioned, it is a race to the bottom.

Furthermore, a good number of foreigners are permanent residents (PRs) who are therefore statistically counted as locals in Singapore.

I am therefore sure you know how they play workplace politics with the Singaporeans & pressure them to quit which results in job vacancies in which I am sure you know whom they bring in.

Displaced local citizens i.e. Singaporeans

We need to raise an alarm. Malaysia is increasingly stealing our lunch.
Lots of MNCs jobs are shifted from SG to Malaysia. ByBit and Binance are hiring engineers in Malaysia more than SG. Semicons are moving to SG. None of the government ministers mention how we can counter this.

There's only so much "production chain" of the ladder you can go up.

Singapore's manufacturing space is pretty much as high as possible.

Going higher would require manufacturing novel materials / space-based manufacturing. Technology which is currently hypothetical.

Another way would be to find a niche that nobody wants.

The Nuclear industry is one such niche, which would include nuclear medicine.

I’m glad someone is finally talking (discussing) about this.

Honestly, I see them as the biggest threat. At the company I used to work for, instead of hiring new local employees, the boss would simply transfer Malaysian staff to Singapore from their offices across the border. For large local companies, applying for work passes is incredibly easy. And please, don’t say you can’t hire locals—there are so many people out of work right now.

While many people focus on CECA (Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement) with India (Subcontinent), I’m more concerned about this group. They blend seamlessly into the workplace and local communities. More importantly, they arrive at a very young age.

Some may argue that these are just blue-collar jobs, but fresh graduates should pay attention. Over the years, I’ve had bad experiences with Malaysian managers who often bully younger local staff. Speaking up rarely helps because these managers have been "friends" with the higher-ups for years. I’ve also witnessed local managers being unhappy because their promotion opportunities were blocked by them.

I don’t hate them, and I understand that many industries would struggle without their contributions. However, we need to consider the bigger picture. Once the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is completed, it will become even easier for unemployed Malaysians or fresh graduates to enter Singapore’s job market. If this continues, Generation Z locals may face an even tougher future.

That bridge might be our end.
