Here's a piece of local news that I thought shows just how abysmally stupid all of the CECA Indian haters are.

Standard Chartered is axing 80 people in Singapore and moving their jobs to India. Given that they are in technology & operations teams it's quite likely that quite a few of them were immigrants anyway - possibly from India, in fact.

But if that means that those Indians are now heading home, is it good for Singapore?

What I mean to say by this is that even if the majority of the people affected aren't Singaporeans, the fact that their jobs here are gone is a net loss for the country.

Locals aren't getting any extra opportunities in their place, while those immigrants lived and spent their money here. They contributed to the local economy, paid rent, used local services and bought goods in local stores.

It's 80 people now, but there were others before and more are reportedly coming. And that's just one company.

Now they or their replacements will be contributing to the economy of India. In the meantime xenophobic haters in Singapore are getting nothing while local businesses will have fewer customers.

Foaming at the mouth about immigrants they never thought that if they're gone so will be their jobs. And they (jobs) won't go to whining local lunatics - they will be moved somewhere else entirely.

This is why complaining about qualified immigrants makes absolutely no sense.

Singaporeans are not xenophobic. They are very pragmatic.
And are you they are spending their monies here ? Singaporeans would definitely spend their money in Singapore.
Foreigners will likely divert some monies back to their home.
Foreign workers should always be supplementing the workforce where there is a lack of skills.
Foreign businesses should always be welcomed here for the foreign direct investment FDI because of the Singaporeans.
